Ralph Donaho, Titian Titzman and Delbert Cavender fished their way home from the Dry Torugas with Lethal Weapon Charters today. We fished the Continental Shelf from Tortugas to Key West catching Dolphin and Wahoo. See the other 20 Dolphin on Facebook. Tight Lines & Screaming Reels, Capt Ted
Texans Ralph Donaho, Titian Titzman and Delbert Cavender fished today in the park with Lethal Weapon Charters. We limited out on Yellowtail, had lots of Bonito, Blue-Runner, Jack Cravelle, Barracuda and Cero Mackeral. The Tarpon put on the show of a lifetime with all three of the guys releasing at least one. Here is Ralph’s before release. We also were treated to quite a show as a 12′ Hammerhead at a huge Tarpon right beside the boat. Tight Lines and Screaming Reels, Capt Ted
Bob & Kate Rausher and Jim & Sandy Elder from Morristown NJ fished with Lethal Weapon Charters today. We fished the weed lines offshore and kept 6 schoolie Dolphin for dinner. Not bad for a half day trip. Tight Lines & Screaming Reels, Capt Ted
Sandi Smokler from Westport, CT fished with us again today on Lethal Weapon Charters. We lost another huge fish deep on the bottom, but did have a great catch of Mahi Mahi. Tight Lines & Screaming Reels, Capt Ted
Old customer and friend, Sandi Smokler, from Westport, CT, fishing with Heath and I on today on the Lethal Weapon, blew our minds. Sandi fought and captured this #60 Golden Tile brought up from the bottom in 1200′ of water. The Tilefish is over twice as big as any I’ve ever caught in over 40 years of deep dropping. Sandi also caught several big Rosefish and 7 beautiful Mahi Mahi which are pictured on Facebook. Tight Lines & Screaming Reels, Capt Ted
Two of the three members of Texas Team Tarpon, newlywed Elizabeth Weissman Zwack and Brandi Wilson, came down to fish a day with Heath and I on Brandi’s birthday. The girls had a beautiful catch of nice sized Mahi Mahi that can be seen on my Facebook page. They also had several nice Rosefish and this gorgeous Glass-eyed Snapper caught by the birthday girl. Once again we had a fabulous time with the Texas girls. Tight Lines & Screaming Reels, Capt Ted
Famous singer, Ted Garver, Keith Early and his sons Dylan, Sean and Jeff all from Hamilton, VA fished with Heath and I today on the Lethal Weapon. We left the dock at the crack of noon and happily caught 4 schoolie Dolphin and a large Barrracuda that was released. Tight Lines & Screaming Reels, Capt Ted
Houston Yarberry, Craig Firestone and owen Wuthrich from TX fished with Heath and I today on the Lethal Weapon. Apparently the Sharks are all in the Gulf of Mexico as we fished 4 or 5 of my favorite spots in the Atlantic without a bite. We did catch a half dozen Yellowtail Snappers, a Mutton Snapper, a Barracuda and 2 big Amberjacks. The Sharks were widely spaced and extremely apathetic. Tight Lines & Screaming Reels, Capt Ted
Rusty & Becky King, Chance and Miranda Bolton & Meredith Hannon from Austin, TX fished offshore on a the hundred fathom bar with Heath & I today on the Lethal Weapon. We targeted bottom fish in 650′ of water and here’s a shot of 4 Tile Fish and one Rose Fish. Tight Lines & Screaming Reels, Capt Ted
Alan Baker, Andy McCutcheon and Jamie Beamer from Florence SC fished offshore with Heath and I on the Lethal Weapon. The boys were a huge help in the cockpit and we put together a fabulous catch of Mahi Mahi. They decided to spend an hour bottom-fishing in 1100′ on the Continental Shelf, made 3 drops and caught 2 huge Barrel Fish and a Rose Fish, The boys had never done any deep dropping and really had a blast. Tight Lines &Screaming Reels, Capt Ted
Repeat customer Anthony King and his cousin Mike, from NJ, fished with Heath and I today offshore on the Lethal Weapon. It was sporty enough that we brought the women and kids back to the dock and set out again. There were only 4 boats in the fleet that had the balls to try it offshore today. I’m not too sure the the others weren’t the smart ones. We battled big waves but did manage 3 nice Dolphin and this beautiful Wahoo. Tight Lines & Screaming Reels, Capt Ted
Peter Primeau and Roth Ohm from Bellevue WA fished offshore today with Heath and I on the Lethal Weapon. We spent the day on 1000′ of water catching 7 Mahi Mahi and trying for a Billfish. We had a chance at one but pulled the hook. It was a beautiful day with deep blue water and tons of flying fish. A great time was had by all. Tight Lines & Screaming Reels, Capt Ted
Scott McAdam, Kirin Guinan, Domenic Del Raso and Wayne Pelletier from Ma fished with Heath and I again today offshore on the Lethal Weapon. Wayne caught a #40 Bull Dolphin that can be seen on Facebook, Domenic caught this huge Sailfish and Scott and Kirin chipped in with several nice schoolie Dolphin. The fish were all caught at the middle crack on top of the Continental Shelf. Tight Lines & Screaming Reels, Capt Ted
Groom-to-be David Lefebure, Larry Brutti, and Dan Kinchla from MA, Ryan Peene, from Hoboken, NJ and Randy Shayler from Philly fished with Heath and I today on the Lethal Weapon. We started out Shark fishing off Western Dry Rocks but the Sharks were totally non-existent. We then proceeded to troll out to the wall, along the wall for 10 miles and back to Key West and managed to catch one Mahi Mahi. We had a big north wind today and the fish were widely spaced and apathetic. Tight Lines & Screaming Reels, Capt Ted
Michael Beasley & Cameron Rutelonis from Little Rock, AR fished with Heath & I this morning on the Lethal Weapon. It was very choppy with scattered grass but we did manage one Barracuda, this big Kingfish and two Bonito. Tenth grader Cameron did, in fact, crush his uncle Michael. Tight Lines & Screaming Reels, Capt Ted
Amy Lewandowski from Fenton MI, fishing with Kirk and I on the Lethal Weapon, fought, caught, photographed and released this beautiful Caribbean Reef Shark on the Vandenberg dive wreck south of Key West. Yes, there were countless divers in the water at that time. Tight Lines & Screaming Reels, Capt Ted
We’ve got great news. We have retired the old boat and put a newer, faster, better equipped 46′ Post FlybridgeSportfish into service. The new boat has a luxurious people-friendly interior – a second L-shaped couch and an additional easy chair in the salon, a larger dinette and a second head. There’s better air-conditioning, updated electronics, longer range radar and a much larger bridge seating area. A new anchor winch, third outrigger, new cushions and isenglass surrounding the bridge complete the picture.
Fishing has been great this spring although it feels a lot like summer . We caught the biggest Hammerhead of my life and two # 400 Tiger Sharks a couple weeks ago. The Sailfish are here and we are catching big Bull Dolphin already. Keep an eye out for a couple of upcoming Tortugas fishing reports. The fishing in the Dry Tortugas National Park has been spectacular and, as always, is the trip of a lifetime.
Try to find the time to come on down and check out the new boat, fish a couple days and BS with me. Like us on Facebook and give us a review on Trip Advisor. Looking forward to seeing you soon.
Old customer, Bill Baumgart, and DoubleTrouble Pam & Debbie from Tampa fished with Heath & I this afternoon on the Lethal Weapon. It was a gorgeous afternoon but the fishing was a little slow. Here’s a picture of the folks with Debbie’s Shark that was photographed and released. Tight Lines & Screaming Reels, Capt Ted
